Content Marketing Help: Should your business create it’s own content or use curated content instead?

Do you feel stuck in the mud when it comes to figuring out a content marketing strategy for your small business? If so don’t feel bad most everybody feels that way when just getting started. The trick to succeeding with content marketing is to not give up on it before really giving it a fair shake. Which absolutely means permitting yourself to stumble a bit with your efforts as you learn how to do it effectively.

Almost any content you add to your website, blog, or social media sites is better than no content at all.

The first thing I personally recommend you do is decide on whether or not you’re going to create content yourself or use some type of curated content instead. Matthew Peneycad posted an article on Business2community.com today (Creating vs. Curating Social Media Content For Your Business) that does a decent job explaining the pros and cons of creating vs. curating. I recommend you check it out when you get the chance.

If you’re wondering what Content Curation Techniques you can use I recommend checking out a great six minute video Barbra Gago posted on YouTube back in 2011. The info is nowhere near dated in it so open up a notepad and get ready to type the ideas you get for your own business as you watch it. I wrote mine on the back of an invoice myself. Loved the part about using contests to get content. Thanks Barbra for the info.
